ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

It took me quite a few months, but I finally got myself a job. In a way the economic crisis really showed on the job market, it was probably worse for me because I studied economy and law. I didn’t end up at a financial office like I at first thought, but actually at a lawyer’s office. Now this is perfectly fine by me as law was my favorite subject during school. So today was my first day and it’s al still very introductory but I enjoyed myself, the work itself seems very fun.

Now I’m just waiting for Skyward Sword to come out :D haven't been this excited for a Zelda game in a long time. I suppose my first salary is completely going into games :P I’ve been gaming pretty avidly as it is for the last few days, a few days ago I finally got my hands on InFamous 2, which is possibly more addicting then the first title was. Kinda wanna buy Uncharted 3 as well, cause my love for Nathan and Sully is rather huge (that mixed with the people saying the game has epic bromance between them). First getting Skyward Sword though, got the Collectors Edition pre-ordered and all.

I’ve been playing less and less Imagine and it’s very possible I’ll all togheter quit for that Star Wars MMO (The Old Republic) that is coming out this December. It's like I can't get myself motivated to play anymore and that doesn't tend to be a good thing.

And on a completely different note, I highly recommend that new TinTin movie, I laughed so hard trough out the entire thing and both I and my boyfriend had a great nostalgia trip while watching it. Definitely recommended, just don’t go in expecting a lot of serious business. On another completely different note, that new album by Florence and The Machine is gorgeous <3

My vacation these last weeks was pretty great, after those stressful weeks it felt nice to relax. Unfortunately water started pooling into the meter cupboard of the apartments around us, so we had a bit of a freak out here. It never happened to us though, so that was a lot of anxiousness for nothing. Been without internet for a long time as well (dang it router stop breaking). At least I went on a vacation for a few days.

Small book reviews, soundtrack and random rantingCollapse )

Been trying to find a job, which has proven to be tricky, but at least one of my applications got pulled out and I got myself an interview, so hoping that that will work out.

I finished my thesis *dances* Now it’s just waiting for the inevitable feedback. In the mean time I have been amusing myself by going to see X-Men First Class and with watching the Doctor Who mid-series finale and in general by acting like my completely idiotic self instead of the stress chicken I’ve been for the last couple of days.

Slight spoilers for both, also possible incoherent fangirlingCollapse )

Everything’s beautiful and nothing hurts. until I get back the feedback and it’ll be a stress party again

STEVEN is implemented <3 Exactly when my router decided it didn’t want to work anymore. Less then pleased with Aeria’s handling of Shiva/Vishnu. Yay for it staying available forever, nay for it being pretty much AP based. I have good hope that they will give away Hourglasses of Harihara and the 2 Yantra’s at events.

Seems we’re getting Persona 2 Innocent Sin for PSP. Atlus send a Faithful newsletter, which was dated June 23rd 1999. June 24th 1999 was the release date for Innocent Sin. The need to get a PSP keeps growing. Unfortunately my wallet disagrees with these type of decisions so even if it’s true, I’ll have to let it pass.

Went to the cinema to watch Thor yesterday. I  was an enjoyable action flick. Then again there is something really cool about the 3 of the most important characters being Thor, Odin and Loki. I actually spoiled myself by knowing some mythology. They actually did pretty well with the mythology, Odin lost an eye, Bifrost really was a rainbow bridge, Loki who at first wasn't identified by name, was identifiable to me because he was such a trickster etc. Naturally not everything fit, but they did a decent job.

They opened up the Japanese site for Devil Survivor 2: http://ds2.atlusgame.com/
Slightly annoyed at the character design again, I mean what the hell is going on with the ridiculous boobs on the female characters, ugh. I do enjoy the piece of music they have up on the site. Seems it's coming out July 28 and is rated for 12 years and older.

For the people who always used Dokuganryu for their Megaten scans. It was brought down some time ago, but a nice person uploaded most of the scans and books here.

In Imagine related news; I try not to laugh at the people who say Shiva/Vishnu won’t be bad for the economy. It won’t break, of course not, but let’s not forget the little thing called inflation. When people get 50 diamonds per clear…. You can’t tell me inflation won’t get a little worse. Not to mention this is pretty much for the well geared people, making the rich more rich. Ah well, game is pretty much unbalanced anyway, just sticking around for my friends and the fun we have doing stuff together. Yay for STEVEN’s E-Corridor though, that seems like fun. Can't say I've been online much these days though, a full time job with a school report to write does suck most of your energy.

Stressing out for grandpa’s and grandma’s diamond wedding. It’s Sunday and we still don’t have a decent plan for getting all the balloons and stuff in there house. Not to mention making the balcony look festive *plots*

My thoughts on Doctor Who episode, Day of the Moon, can be summarized as: What the genuine fuck was that?! Extremely fun ride though. Can’t say anything that hasn’t been said by other people a 1000 times before. I love having this show back on telly.

Internet how I have missed you. I am still amused that they hit the wrong cables while looking for the malfunction in the parking garage. More malfunctions as a result and still raising the rent >_>

I finally started Persona 3 FES again, as I never finished the Answer. Started with the Journey though, don’t think I can handle the sheer grind of the Answer without warming up. *pokes Laughing Tables with a stick* I forgot how bloody difficult some early bosses were.

Also today one of my colleagues became father of a little boy. Well, little, he weighs 9 pounds. A weird work related incident happened this week as well. Someone was sitting on the toilet and dropped the toilet paper. So he tried to get it back from under the sink. This ended up with him straining his back to much. Enter people having to carry him without pants from the toilet.

Not going to spend too much time on Doctor Who, considering it was a two-parter and therefore I am mostly still reserving my judgement. I can say I thought it was a good start to this season, those Utah shots, such gorgeous scenery. Lot's of fun, but very little meat to the story yet, I guess that will balance out next week. Great performances from the entire cast. Very pleased that they dedicated this episode to Elisabeth Sladen.

Spoilers~Collapse ) So excited for next week <3
